On The Gas Scholarship - DACA/Visa eligible

On The Gas Scholarship is a highly competitive award for high school and college students interested in food and beverage & marketing. Besides monetary benefits, the scholarship provides professional development, educational support, and industry exposure opportunities.

Unlike other scholarships that are awarded on the basis of academic merit, On The Gas Scholarship puts the tools for winning solely in your hands. The selection team judges your entry on your commitment to and interest in the food and drink science marketing.

To be eligible for the On The Gas-The Art, Science and culture of Food Scholarship, each applicant must submit a 1,500-word (minimum) article related to food and drink, or any content related to food and beverage marketing to apply. Just think about content that is informative and engaging, and one that will go viral.

Students who are pursuing Business, Marketing, Food & Drinks, Communications, or IT related courses are recommended but it is not a requirement. However, all applicants must demonstrate a passion for food and drink and must be ready to communicate the same in their entries.
Selection criteria

The decision to grant this award is based on the promotion of the article the students submits. This means that each entry will be assessed based on the quality of buzz it will get. This includes but not limited to how many times the article is liked, commented or shared, as well as the number of external links pointing to it.

Just keep in mind that in order for a target audience to share, comment or like any article, the article must engage first with them.

Applicant must agree to assign the rights to publish the content he or she submits on onthegas.org. All submissions must be original, written in clear, concise and grammatically correct English.

This is a $750 scholarship and is awarded on june 30th of each year.
The deadline to apply is May 15th 2017.
